Total time: 1 hour
Servings: 10
Ingredients
For the Topping:
- 1 1/4 cups quick oats
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter, diced
For the Berry Filling:
- 2 cups strawberries, halved or quartered
- 2 cups blueberries
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
In a large bowl, combine the quick oats, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, and kosher salt. Mix well. Add the cold diced butter and use your hands or a pastry cutter to work the butter into the dry ingredients until you have a crumbly mixture.
In another large bowl, place the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Add the granulated sugar, orange juice, and vanilla extract. Gently toss the berries until they are coated. Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the berries and toss again to evenly coat them.
Transfer the berry mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the berries, ensuring even coverage.
Cook
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the berries are bubbly.
Once the crisp is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. This will help the juices thicken slightly.
Serve
Serve the warm mixed berry crisp as is or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy the delightful combination of sweet and tart flavors!
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave or enjoy them cold.
